I want to thank everyone again for making last month's show so much fun. It was seriously one of the harder things I've ever had to work on, and now that it fades a little in the memory banks I just want to re-iterate how much I appreciate the support I was given. Enjoy the photographs.

Pauline and I had yet another hard-workin' late night last night. We even recruited the help of a third, Aird, to set up the lit portraits at the venue. We set everything up to about 80% last night and soon I have to return for the finishing touches. It's looking really good, and I'm getting pretty excited. See you all tonight!

In my living room: six CSA approved 2'x3'x6" metal signs. There's an undeniable industrial feel to these portraits, and I couldn't be happier. I had many options when I was researching how to create these signs, and I'm very happy I went down the path I did. Now all that remains are the millions of small details in between now and next Wednesday.

With just over a week to go before the show goes live, things kick into the highest gear. There's still a month's worth of work to do in the next seven days, but with a little luck we'll pull this thing off. Beside me as I type this is an innocent looking piece of foolscap with a list of remaining items of business. Everything from garbage bags to creating drink menus is on there. If you're reading this and have yet to pass along the Siteway Lit invite (http://lit.siteway.com/) to your friends, you can do so now. Thanks for all the support I've received, it's beyond appreciated as it borders on necessary.

Welcome to the official site for my second showing of illustrated works, Siteway Lit. I thought it might be a cool idea to create illuminated signs of my portraits a few years ago and it's pretty satisfying to be "actually doing it." There's this thing I have with signs, I guess, the ones you see on top of storefronts, outside of bars, in bus shelters, airports, and commercial spaces around the world. I opted for a very commercial, even industrial, look to the pieces because that's where I get a lot of my inspiration from. I've seen lightboxes before and I love them, but for Siteway Lit I wanted something slightly different. ¶ The show itself is slated for a Wednesday evening, November 9, 2005. I'm telling people to show up anytime after 5pm because that's when the sun sets in Toronto at that time of the year. I'm not 100% sure yet, but my plan is to light the show with only the signs. Might not be enough, but we'll see how it goes. If you're interested in my work, please come by to the Richmond on November 9th. My good friend English Mike of Stirling fame will be playing some of our favourite CDs, there'll be a reasonable cash bar, and some light snacks on offer. See you in about a month!
